Seminar: Between Poland and Türkiye: Migration, Communities and Mutual Relations

We cordıally invite you to the seminar “Between Poland and Türkiye: Migration, Communities and Mutual Relations”, taking place on 30 October 2026 at 12:00.

What connects Polish experiences in Türkiye with Turkish experiences in Poland? How do people build a sense of belonging between two countries, and what roles do history, education, work, and personal relationships play in this process?

The seminar will bring together researchers and practitioners to discuss:

  • Poles living between cultures in the Ottoman Empire and the historical presence of Ottoman and Turkish communities in Poland.
  • The integration and education of Poles in Türkiye, including the experiences of a new generation.
  • Contemporary migrant communities in Poland and the challenges of integration.
  • Poland as a second home and the role of Turkish business in building Polish-Turkish relations.

Our speakers will include Agnieszka Ayşen Kaim, Adam Balcer, Anna Zadrożna, Erdal Yıldırım, Rafał Raczyński, and Mustafa Tuncer.

Short introductory presentations will be followed by moderated discussions with the audience. We particularly welcome colleagues working with Türkiye, students, members of the Polish Turkish community, and people professionally involved in migration and integration.

You are welcome to contribute your own experiences and questions.
