About the centre

A Bridge Between Two Cultures

The Polish-Turkish Studies Centre is an academic and cultural initiative established at the University of Gdańsk to promote cooperation between Poland and Türkiye across multiple fields.

The Centre operates at the intersection of research, education and cultural exchange, creating a dynamic environment where students, scholars and practitioners can engage in dialogue, share knowledge and develop joint initiatives.

Meet the People Behind the Centre

Prof. Wojciech Grabowski

Director

Professor Wojciech Grabowski is a political scientist specialising in international relations, geopolitics and contemporary developments in Türkiye. He conducts research on political processes, security issues and Poland–Türkiye relations. As Director, he is responsible for strategic development, academic profile and international partnerships.

Berkay Altunbaş

Coordinator

Berkay Altunbaş is a specialist in higher education and project management, focusing on designing and implementing Erasmus+ mobility and cooperation projects. He is also a former European Solidarity Corps Volunteer at the Cooperation and International Relations Office. As a Coordinator, he is responsible for day-to-day operations, event coordination, student engagement and communication, playing a key role in connecting Polish and Turkish communities.

The Centre is supported by a dedicated team of student volunteers from Poland and Türkiye who contribute to event organisation, communication and community-building activities.
